#MedicareMonday: Part A
Original Medicare consists of two parts: Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B.

Part A helps cover inpatient care in hospitals, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care and home health care.
· Inpatient hospital care. Some of the benefits that Medicare A covers include; meals, general nursing, medications, and a semi-private room that usually contain one or two beds with a curtain.
· Skilled nursing facility care. This refers to a special care provided in a skilled nursing facility that can only be given by a registered nurse or doctor.
· Hospice care. One of the benefits of hospice care is that it is usually given at home, but it may be covered in a hospice inpatient facility.
· Home health care. Medicare part A covers eligible home health services like: intermittent skilled nursing care, physical therapy, speech-language pathology services (help people find other ways to communicate when they can’t speak), continued occupational services and more.
